We, citizens of the world, we call on all states of the Pacific region to stop secret negotiations on the Trans Pacific Partnership, TPP and the Trade in Service Agreement, TiSA.
We want to impede these TPP and TiSA negotiations to be concluded because there is no transparency in their discussion and because they include questionable parts as mechanisms to keep out of the reach of courts, disputes between companies and States.
We believe that several of its regulatory norms represent a threat to democracy and to the rule of law. We want to avoid a reduction of civil rights particularly on employment, social affairs, health, environment, privacy, individual freedom, copyrights and consumers’ defense.
We do not want public services such as access to water, medicines and culture to be deregulated in favor of multinational companies against the public interest.
